How would you feel living with constant surveillance in your country?

According to a study, downtown Manhattan boasts approximately more than 5000 security cameras. In England, there are more than 6 million security cameras. With a national population of 56100,000, that’s one camera for every nine people.  You can see security cameras everywhere in China. When you get up in the morning, check the mailbox outside the door, you will be caught on cameras. Drive to work, many security cameras are watching on you at the crossroads. When you stop to take some money from the bank,  you will find cameras. Finally, when you go to your office and park your car and even go to office, the cameras are still indispensable.   From where I am sitting, I can see many different cameras in front of me (Haha, there are Titathink home security cameras)

Technology and our increasing demand for security have put us all under surveillance.  These cameras can identify you automatically within seconds. All these cameras videos will be stored in relevant department control rooms, where they can watch images from these cameras.

Some people feel more secure with the cameras, while other citizens feel nervous about the idea of someone watching them every time they are out in public.  In public surveillance good or bad debate, the major question is whether the cameras an invasion or a privacy. I think that in people’s lives, there are issues of safety and issues of privacy. When these two things come into conflict, for Chinese people perhaps care more about safety. Because when you don’t have safety, you have nothing.  But for other countries’ people, especially American people  the might oppose increase in security cameras in public.

Let’s take a look at the advantages and disadvantages of security cameras in public places.

Cons of Security Cameras in Public Places

Surveillance systems could be attacked by hackers. There was a Dyn cyber attack On Oct 21, 2016, and involved multiple distributed denial-of service attacks targeting systems operated by Domain Name System provide Dyn, which caused major Internet platforms and services to be unavailable to large swathes  of users in Europe and North America. Dyn also said in a statement that there were a lot of attacks from intelligent networking devices, such as routers, smart cameras, etc.   If your Titathink IP security camera’ s password is simple, like 123, abc, admin, ect, hackers will easily control your cameras. People have weak security awareness of camera. So in order to ensure your privacy, please as soon as possible to set up a complex landing password for your camera. We recommend the password contains uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, special symbols such as @# !. But you must remember to record in the mobile phone memory.

But all in all, I would say the advantages far more than outweigh the disadvantages. So there is no need to worry about your privacy violation if you have nothing to hide in public. Public security cameras help ensure public safety, protect and prevent crimes. So when you go outside at night, you may consider going in places where you are secured by security cameras.
